Uganda

Kenya

Kobujoi Hospital

This hospital in West Kenya offers the only neonatal and maternal care unit for 25km's. It also houses the only clean water supply for 7km's.
Most people access a filthy pond for their cooking, cleaning and washing water.

A deep bore well is the answer.

Budget - $12,000

Busabala Road Hospital

This is one of the few hospitals in Kampala to give all their services for free - physio, maternal care, AIDS medication, mobile medical clincs, adult literacy programs and more.
85% of those who come through the hospital have waterborne diseases.
The solution is easy - a clean water supply for the 40,000 people.

Kitgum

The LRA decimated this part of Northern Uganda for 25 years. People are starting to return to their villages, plant crops, build schools, find employment.

A deep bore well can be built within a week, but transform lives for 20 years.

1. Form a water committee, of which 50% must be women.

2. Fill out the project and budget proposals.

3. Submit with 3 written quotes.

Partners need to be willing to donate labour/materials towards the completion of the project.

Throughout the building process partners must be in internet contact with the Australian office.

Upon completion of the project, partners need to submit photographs and/or video proof.

Three and six months after completion of the project, a full report is submitted as part of AusAID requirements.

Tanzania

The School of St Jude - Arusha

This school is an example to the rest of the country on how a school should operate. Over 1,300 students from impoverished families are given quality education, meals, uniforms and baording (from high school onwards), free of charge. This school will give Tanzania its next professionals.

The School of St Jude has water tanks but urgently needs guttering to help fill them!
